Merriman Anderson Architects (MAA) has completed the new Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Southlake in Texas. The first ground-up property from the Delta brand in the United States, the 240-room hotel conveys sleek modernism across six stories of a new mixed-use development. “The new hotel provides modern and high-tech meeting spaces as well as interior comfort for guests traveling for business and leisure,” says MAA president Milton Anderson. “The design we implemented is meant to represent the history of Southlake and the surrounding areas while providing a simple yet sophisticated space inside.”
A warm blend of limestone, metal, and stucco draws inspiration from the original exploration of the region, weaving a narrative of travel through a dense forest beneath a starry night sky. Wood surfaces offset industrial elements and reinforce the surrounding landscape. The design also honors Delta’s philosophy of “the bare maximum” through a refined materiality, natural forms, and streamlined furnishings that balance function and form.
Sophistication abounds at the onsite restaurant and bar, where simple but striking displays infuse the deep roots of Southlake across the casual space. An outdoor pool, patio, coffee shop, and 10,000 square feet of meeting space round out the onsite amenities.
