The Standard, Brussels to Open in 2025

Standard International has announced plans to continue its global expansion with the launch of its first hotel in Belgium in 2025. The Standard, Brussels will debut as part of ZIN, the redevelopment initiative of the World Trade towers in the city’s Northern Quarter. The mixed-use hub will feature offices and other communal spaces as well.

“This property is a perfect step for the Standard in Europe,” says Amar Lalvani, the company’s CEO. “Once again, we will be completely and unexpectedly reinventing a property and transforming a neighborhood. We can’t wait to surprise people and show them just how intriguing Brussels is and why we love it.”

Home to 180 accommodation and 20 branded apartments, the Standard, Brussels will welcome visitors and tenants via a lush greenhouse on the ground floor and invite them to share a toast across a convivial rooftop where bars and restaurants await. The hotel’s designer has not yet been announced.

Ahead of 2025, the brand is also slated to expand its international footprint with two openings in Thailand: the Standard, Hua Hin and the Standard, Bangkok in November 2021 and early 2022, respectively.
