Six Senses Welcomes Five Directors of Sales and Marketing to the Group
BANGKOK – April 13, 2022 – Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is on a journey of growth and possibility and, as it expands, it is delighted to announce five new appointments, two of whom are returning to the family.
Louise Smythe, DOSM Six Senses Fiji
From her very first role at the Ritz in London, Louise knew the hospitality industry was her passion. After five years in the city, she traveled to New Zealand and fell in love with the lifestyle, the beautiful landscapes, and the people. She was fortunate to be offered several opportunities including a position with The Regent Hotel. She also oversaw several openings and worked for the New Zealand sailing team in the America’s Cup Regatta before finally finding her niche within the luxury travel segment.
Louise worked at Huka Lodge for 12 years prior to opening the first offices for Robertson Lodges. Afterward, she relocated back to London as the Director of Sales and Marketing for The Dorchester, steering the property through the global financial crisis. Before joining Six Senses Fiji, she worked as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Kokomo Private Island.
Louise has been married to Stephen for 27 years and they live together in central Auckland. Both adore sailing and enjoy the beauty that New Zealand has to offer. Her other passions include art and sustainable fashion: even her shoes are made of recycled milk bottles!
Mona Metwally, DOSM Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea
Before joining the team as the Director of Sales and Marketing of Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea; Mona was appointed the first female Director of Sales and Marketing and Executive Committee Member in Saudi Arabia by the InterContinental Al Jubail Resort. She was hired to lead the commercial team and support the property’s transformation into a resort while developing her operational skills.
Mona started her career working for Marriott International and Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza. From there, she moved to the United Arab Emirates to join FRHI Hotels & Resorts in Dubai, before joining the IHG Corporate Office in Dubai as Senior Portfolio Revenue Manager and then moving to Saudi Arabia.
Mona likes working with people and helping others develop, while delivering results, and ensuring unique guest experiences and satisfaction. Mona holds a double major in Business Administration and Marketing from City University, she loves the sea, traveling, cooking, hiking, bungee-jumping, fashion, music, and is officially a 'Beast' for finishing the 25-kilometer Spartan Race.
Bobby Bazemore, DOSM Six Senses Ibiza
Bobby started his career working in tech with clients including Soho House, before eventually jumping in-house and joining the group in 2010. For the next seven years Bobby supported the brand’s growth, building a global sales team and helping to define the strategic approach for the Soho House hotels division.
Afterward, he moved to Indonesia to join Potato Head, a lifestyle hospitality business with operations in Asia. Inspired by its authentic approach to culture and sustainability, Bobby spent nearly three years in the tropical sun working across the Potato Head portfolio of clubs, hotels, restaurants, and events, leading the sales and marketing teams across the region.
Fast forward to 2020, when Bobby moved back to London and joined EDITION. In March 2022, he moved to Six Senses Ibiza to take the position of Director of Sales and Marketing. Bobby has a deep passion for all things travel, food and music. He and his wife are kept busy at home by their two children.
Harry Tangalos, DOSM Six Senses Zil Pasyon
Harry returns to Six Senses as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Six Senses Zil Pasyon in Seychelles. Previously, he oversaw regional sales and marketing for Six Senses properties in Thailand and was also part of the pre-opening team at Six Senses Krabey Island, Cambodia and Six Senses Bhutan.
Harry’s extensive experience with Six Senses makes him well versed in the brand’s philosophy and values, living a meaningful life by balancing work with what life has to offer. Melbourne born and bred, he is a big coffee culture fan and loves hiking, biking, riding, and all activities that take him close to the sea. Welcome back Harry!
Michael Vance, Regional DOSM Maldives
Michael brings more than 15 years of international experience in the high-end hospitality sector to his latest role. He spent the last four years as the Head of Sales & Marketing at Perowne International in London, where he oversaw a global portfolio of more than 20 independent luxury hotels, resorts, and lodges. He is no stranger to Six Senses, having previously spent six years as the UK Account Director, taking care of trade partners for Six Senses in this key source market.
Michael now rejoins the group as the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Maldives, overseeing Six Senses Laamu and Six Senses Kanuhura, which is due to open in December 2022. Michael and his family will remain based in the UK, although his two children are very much looking forward to becoming the newest Junior Marine Biologists. An avid traveler, Michael also enjoys good food (cooking and indeed eating) as well as scuba-diving and exploring the world with his partner and children. Welcome back Michael!
