Safari tourism company Natural Selection has revealed the revamp of its former Jackal & Hide property near the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Now known as Little Sable, the immersive retreat will draw influence from nearby sister property Sable Alley in a refresh by designer Tracy Kelly.
“Little Sable had its origins as a small photographic camp in a great location but with modest interiors. We compiled thoughts and ideas which all came together to create a unique camp that feels like a small home in the bush,” says Kelly, the designer behind both properties. “Little Sable being the baby sister of Sable Alley was primarily inspired by the sable antelope and its colors yet drawing from the look, feel and colors that abound at Sable Alley. The wide entrance invites you up and then opens up to the most amazing views beyond.”
Conceived as the Sable Alley’s freespirited younger sibling, Little Sable evokes a simplicity reminiscent of Old World English heritage and African-inspired creative flair. An expanded deck area accommodates expanded lounge and dining space and now includes a large firepit. The pooldeck has also been enlarged to serve as an optimal platform for photography and wildlife viewing. Each of Little Sable’s eight traditional tents sit upon raised wooden platforms that host private decks, ensuite bathrooms, and new outdoor showers.
